The Brief
The Piedmont Environmental Council needed to raise awareness for land preservation efforts in the Piedmont, Virginia region — one of the most historically and ecologically significant landscapes on the East Coast. The goal was to reach local audiences with a message that felt personal, urgent, and rooted in the community.
The Approach
Rather than a traditional spokesperson, the campaign centered on Robert Duvall — acclaimed actor, Middleburg resident, and genuine advocate for the land he called home. His connection to the region wasn't manufactured for the camera; it was real, and that authenticity drove every creative decision.
As part of the creative team at Puckett Marketing, I contributed to the storyboards and script development, collaborated on voiceover direction, and served as an on-set producer during the shoot. I also worked closely with the editing team in post-production, ensuring the final cut met both creative and client standards, including art directing the closing slide, the last thing viewers see, and the campaign's clearest brand moment.
The spot aired regionally in September 2017.
